World Poker Database
A new world poker database, a service collecting live poker information in 7 countries, is due to release its first update on November 1st. Online casinos subscribers to Wanna Play Poker receive news on card rooms, local tournaments, home games and other online casino players in their vicinity through a free monthly e-mail service.
The system works by hoovering up news of live games across the English-speaking world and categorising them by geographic location. This information is then collated on a monthly basis to create a personal poker schedule for every registered online casinos player.
'Gone are the days when you had to know someone who knows someone to get a game of poker!' says Richard Speigal of Wanna Play Poker. 'Our service offers free publicity for anyone running a game, amateur or pro - and pushes the information to the right players in the right place. Essentially we put players together, via the web.' Tournament and game hosts are encouraged to get listed, as is any online casino player who wants local poker news direct to their e-mail inbox. The service is entirely free and also private - online casino players are not required to give any personal details to use the site.
